What is Away Mode and how does it affect charging and discharging on my ZEB?
Away Mode pauses automatic charging on your ZEB for holidays or absences, while still allowing it to respond to calls for heat, use Boost Charge, and protect itself from frost.

What is Away Mode?
Away Mode allows you to temporarily pause all automatic charging, including Smart, Basic and Custom Charging, either indefinitely or until a pre‑selected return date. This is ideal if you’re going on holiday or won’t need your ZEB for heating and/or hot water for an extended period, such as during the summer months.
What still works in Away Mode?
While in Away Mode:
- Your ZEB will still respond to calls for heat from your heating controls, using any energy already stored in the core.
- Automatic charging is paused (Smart, Basic and Custom Charging).
- Boost Charge can still be activated manually via the Comms Box or the Tepeo App.
- Frost Protection remains active to protect your ZEB from low temperatures.
This means Away Mode gives you the flexibility to pause regular charging without losing essential protection, the ability to manually top up your ZEB, or the ability for your heating system to call for heat when needed.
