# My ZEB is charging at peak times

## Optimize ZEB charging with Smart, Basic, or Custom schedules

To manage your ZEB's charging and avoid unnecessary energy costs, follow the guidance below based on your charging mode.Smart or Basic Charging: Your ZEB may occasionally need to top up its charge during the day. To avoid charging at peak-tariff times, follow the guidance in the “Optimising your heating system” and “Energy tips” sections of the Quick Start Guide, also available in the App FAQs.

Custom Charging: Review your charging schedule to make sure your charging times do’t overlap with peak tariff periods.
