Is it normal to have a burning smell come off my ZEB?
Initial ZEB cycles or post-service may emit a harmless smell, which disappears after several charge/discharge cycles.
When the ZEB is first installed, residual binders in the insulation may be released during the initial cycles, sometimes producing a temporary smell. These binders are biodegradable and safe. A similar smell may occur after any service work, but it will dissipate after several charge/discharge cycles. The ZEB’s heat storage core temperature is closely monitored, with fail-safes to prevent overcharging.
