How to set a Custom Tariff

If your energy supplier isn’t listed, create a Custom Tariff in the tepeo App so Smart Charging can optimise your ZEB’s heating schedule.

Entering your custom tariff allows our Smart Charging algorithm to generate the best charging schedules for your ZEB based on your specific pricing.

Steps to set up a Custom Tariff:

  1. On the Select your electricity supplier screen, scroll down and select "My electricity supplier isn't listed".
  2. On the Enter your tariff screen, fill in the following details:
    • Supplier: Type the name of your electricity supplier (e.g. British Gas).
    • Tariff name: Type the name of your tariff (e.g. EV Power).
  3. Set your initial rate:
    • Under Tariff rates, tap the default time slot starting at 00:00 (marked Tap to set).
    • In the Edit rate pop-up, enter the Pence per kWh for this start time and tap Done.
  4. Add additional rate periods (for Variable/Time-of-Use tariffs):
    • Tap the plus sign (+) icon next to Tariff rates.
    • Select the Start time using the time picker wheel (e.g. 05:00) and tap Confirm.
    • In the Pence per kWh field, enter the rate for this new time period.
    • Tap Add rate.
    • Repeat this process for any additional rate changes throughout the day.

    • 💡 Tip: Finding your tariff rates

You can find your exact unit rates (in p/kWh) on your latest electricity bill, in your online energy account, or via your supplier's app. Make sure to use rates that include VAT.

💡 Tip: How rate periods work

You only need to set the Start time whenever your rate changes. The app automatically runs each rate until the next change, covering the full 24-hour period (00:00 to 24:00) with no gaps.

  5. Once all rate windows for the 24-hour period are added, tap Review.

  6. Review the summary on the Confirm tariff details screen, including the tariff name, supplier, region, and the visual rate graph.
  7. Tap Confirm to save your custom tariff.
