# How do I change my charging settings?

Your ZEB supports three charging modes: **Smart Charging** (the default, optimised for cost or carbon), **Custom Charging** (a user-defined schedule and parameters), and **Basic Charging** (standard charging with no optimisation). To change your charging mode, open the tepeo app, select **Charging Settings** from the main menu, and follow the steps below.

By default, your ZEB is set to **Smart Charging** after installation. In **Smart Charging** mode, you can set your preference for cost or carbon optimisation in the tepeo app.

Use the steps below to switch between modes:

- **Smart Charging → Custom Charging:** Select **Disable Smart Charging**, then select **Enable Custom Charging** and set your preferred custom parameters.
- **Smart Charging → Basic Charging:** Select **Disable Smart Charging**. Basic Charging will be enabled automatically.
- **Basic Charging → Smart Charging:** Select **Enable Smart Charging**.
- **Basic Charging → Custom Charging:** Select **Enable Custom Charging** and add your preferred schedule.
- **Custom Charging → Smart Charging:** Select **Disable Custom Charging Scheduler**, then select **Enable Smart Charging**.
- **Custom Charging → Basic Charging:** Select **Disable Custom Charging Scheduler**. Basic Charging will be enabled automatically.
