How can I stop the ZEB charging at peak times?

When on a Smart Charging or Basic Charging schedule, your ZEB may charge during peak times if needed. This is by design, as your ZEB’s primary function is to keep you warm.
Your Charging preference setting controls whether ZEB is allowed to top up at peak times while in Smart Charging or Basic Charging. In the tepeo app, you can choose between:
- Allow peak: ZEB will schedule charging during the off-peak periods in your selected tariff, but it may top up during peak periods if needed to meet your expected heat demand. This is the recommended setting for most homes.
- Only off-peak: ZEB will only charge during the off-peak periods in your selected tariff. This setting helps prevent peak-time charging, but on days with higher-than-expected heat demand, you may need to use Boost manually to add extra charge.
Other instances where the ZEB charges:
- Frost Protection: This charging happens automatically, without any action from you. The ZEB keeps a small reserve of charge in its core so your thermostat can protect your pipes from freezing.
- Boost Charging: When Boost Charging is activated, the ZEB starts charging immediately for 30 minutes. You can activate this feature through the app or the Comms Box.
If you are on a Custom Charging schedule, you can update your time slots and Target Charge % for each in the app to avoid peak times.
